Sin Fronteras @ Fulton St.
Sin Fronteras @ Fulton St.
Sin Fronteras is a representation of diverse social issues the immigrant community faces in the city of Houston. Gelson D Lemus [W3R3on3] mentioned how the artists of this mural were inspired by the challenges immigrant communities faced in Houston about 10 years ago. In the mural, they tried to show the developing city of Houston along with the growing economy represented by the beautiful skyline. In addition, the crowd protesting is a representation of the many social issues different groups face in Houston ranging from immigration to labor laws and socio-economic struggles in the city. Furthermore, the skulls on the left side of the mural represent the sacrifice and cost many immigrant groups pay in order to work towards their American dream in the United States.
