One of the premier science museums in the United States, the Houston Museum of Natural Science was founded on the idea that science could enhance everyone’s life. The museum has five floors of permanent exhibits, the Burke Baker Planetarium, Wortham Giant Screen Theater, and Cockrell Butterfly Center. It also has two satellite facilities: the George Observatory in Fort Bend County, which houses one of the largest public telescopes in the country, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugarland.
