The Houston Ballet is the fourth largest professional ballet company in the U.S. and is operated by the Houston Ballet Foundation. It also maintains the Houston Ballet Academy which trains more than half of the company’s 59 dancers. The Houston Ballet produces 85 performances a year. In 2019, Karina Gonzalez made history as Houston Ballet’s first Latina principal ballerina.
