Serie Flappers

Acrilyc on canvas.

The Flappers series was based on the expression, "The woman dressed in silk to be made of iron." It represents women during the 1920s and their liberation from societal constraints. They demanded rights, such as the right to vote, and presented themselves to the world freely, with an iron will, even though they were dressed in silk. For example, the series depicts women driving cars, smoking in public, engaging in sports without being judged, and accessing places that were previously off-limits to them. This is what my Flappers series portrays.

Serie Ethnicity

In the Ethnicity series, the female figure once again takes center stage in the works. The unifying element among all the figures is that they are bald. The series explores different ethnicities and even gender expression, depicting Black, Caucasian, Indian, Indigenous, man-woman, and woman-man figures. The clothing of all the characters was crafted using epoxy resin over the figures painted in acrylic on canvas. The theme of these pieces is the unification of human beings as individuals, regardless of their ancestry.
