One of the first totally air-conditioned office buildings in Houston, City Hall is the headquarters of the City of Houston’s municipal government. Constructed in 1939, the City Hall complex is located on Bagby Street on the western side of Downtown Houston. City Hall is flanked by Tranquility Park, The Hermann Square Reflection Pond, and the Houston Public Library. Hermann Square is regularly used for events.
