All Time

Todo el tiempo

My first trip to Mexico was filled with firsts. First trip to Mexico, first time seeing my grandmother's home, first time seeing my Great-Grandmother, first time walking these streets with my father and grandmother. My abuela told me in a letter once "Tu familia es rico en México" not in money, not in fame, but in who we are. Knowing these streets now after walking them, I know that now.

El Rey

El Rey

I’ve watched my whole life as my dad has broken the odds. Coming from nothing, knowing no English, started to work for an industry with no sort of education, having kids, moving his entire life to a different state for a better opportunity, becoming a US citizen, raising my sisters and I to have the best life we could ask for. I’m able to pursue my dreams because of the sacrifice that both him and my mother made.
