La misión de Heritage Society es contar la historia de Houston y Texas a través de colecciones, exhibiciones, artes, programas educativos, películas, videos y otros contenidos. La Sociedad ha conservado y restaurado diez edificios históricos, los ha reubicado en Sam Houston Park junto con una galería del museo. Estos se encuentran en el centro de Houston.
