HMAAC’s mission is to collect, conserve, explore, and exhibit the material and intellectual culture of Africans and African Americans in Houston, the state of Texas, the southwest, and the African Diaspora, for current and future generations. HMAAC seeks to be a cultural portal to share histories and contemporary experiences that expand the African American experience and interactions to build a common future.
