CMALS is a university-wide Center with three major components: 1) Research, 2) Recruitment, Retention, and Instruction, and 3) Community Service. In 2018-2023 CMAS was the headquarters of the Inter University Program on Latino Research [IUPLR], a national research consortium with 22 university-related centers and institutes whose research focused on Latino communities. CMALS was also the host of the Latino Art Now! Houston in 2019, and the creator of Latino cARTographies. Several works by local Latino artists can be found at the Center.
