Gulfton Story Trail Mural

This mural is located at the Gulfton Las Americas Newcomer School and features a young girl staring out with a fixed gaze, as three children run through a bold, colorful landscape. Jesús Sanchez’ technicolor murals pay homage to Houston’s diverse immigrant cultures and his hometown of Mexico City, This mural, and each of the Gulfton Story Trail murals, captures the themes of community, culture, family and the concept of home. The Gulfton Story Trail is an immersive art experience that invites the viewer to discover the neighborhood’s many cultures and voices.
