Michael C. Rodriguez is a Houston-based artist and multimedia designer. Rodriguez interweaves fine art, street art, the art of illustration and graphic design while addressing the constructs of 21st century painting - most specifically pop art. As an extension to a previous painting, Rodriguez created Girl with Rabbits. His inspiration for the murals was his love of nature, animals, and-1960s illustration and comics. Considering his background as a graphic designer and illustrator, Rodriguez used his experience to bring the same kind of aesthetic to his murals. After hand drawing the image, he brought them into digital programs, redesigning them. on the computer. Despite the time-consuming process of transferring the designs from the computer to a wall, this leads to the final project, in which he paints with paint and brushes.
