Sandra Poblano Alvarez was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She arrived in the U.S. in 2001 and was raised in Ventura, California. Sandra is a first generation college graduate. She graduated from University California Irvine with a Masters of Science in Criminology and Law in 2016. She relocated to Houston, TX in 2018 to pursue her educational journey and in 2020 she completed her Masters of Arts in Sociology from the University of Houston. Today, she is a dedicated social worker for the Texas Health Department in Travis County.
