Latin American Women Artists of Houston [LAWAH]

Mujeres artistas latinoamericanas de Houston [LAWAH]

The Latin American Women Artists of Houston is a community of artists who mentor and support each other in their art careers which are at various stages of development.

Arielle Masson, artist and professor at the Glassell School of Art of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, identified the need for so many of her Latina students to be better connected and supported. The group met the idea of having a more powerful voice in the art community with great enthusiasm. LAWAH meets regularly at the artists studios, and is actively looking for opportunities to exhibit. Arielle Masson - an internationally exhibiting artist- is giving generously of her time, mentorship and knowledge to support LAWAH. LAWAH has held many collective exhibitions, internal workshops for professional development, and projects involving the community.
